Contributions

Here you can find instructions to the authors of the full papers, workshops and poster presentations.

Please send your full paper or poster/workshop abstract to us by 30 October 2008.

If you have been accepted as a presenter of a full paper, follow the instructions below the "full papers" header. Otherwise follow the workshop or poster instructions depending on which applies.

Full papers

  • Use the full paper template, which is available in DOC (53 kilobytes) and RTF (493 kilobytes) formats. The page limit is 15 pages. Make sure that the automatic page numbers in the template work, and if not, insert your own.
  • Submit your full paper in the PDF format by using the OpenConf system. See the instructions below.
  • Prepare for a 30 minute presentation (including the discussion and changeover to the next speaker, 5-10 minutes).

Workshops

  • Write an abstract describing the workshop using the workshop abstract template, which is available in RTF format, or a similar style.
  • Submit your workshop abstract in the PDF format by using the OpenConf system. See the instructions below.
  • The time limit of a workshop is 1 hour and 30 minutes (90 minutes).
  • (Optional: you can send us other material, documentation for example, to be included in the BOBCATSSS website, proceedings etc., if you wish. Please contact us at bobcatsss2009@uta.fi.)

Posters

  • See the instructions document for poster session presenters, which includes information about the dimensions, etc. (A lot of information on how to prepare a poster can be found on the web, e.g. this link list.)
  • Write an abstract describing the poster using the poster abstract template, which is available in RTF format, or a similar style.
  • Submit your poster abstract in the PDF format by using the OpenConf system. See the instructions below.
  • Bring the poster with you to the conference. Prepare for an introductory speech of about 1 minute, and also to discuss your work during the poster session.
  • (Optional: you can send us your poster to be included in the BOBCATSSS website, proceedings etc., if you wish. Please contact us at bobcatsss2009@uta.fi.)

OpenConf instructions

  • 1. Prepare your full paper, workshop abstract, or poster abstract using the appropriate template. Please note that when submitting your abstract or full paper, you accept our publication agreement.
  • 2. Convert your file to the PDF format. Make sure that there are no restrictions on printing, editing or copying.
  • 3. Go to the address http://153.1.58.42/openconf/openconf.php.
  • 4. Click on 'Upload Final Paper'.
  • 5. Upload your paper using your paper ID and password, which you received when sending your original extended abstract.
  • 6. You are done!

Important Dates

  • 15 July 2008: Mandatory extended abstracts due for full research papers, posters, and workshop contributions. (After this date we will start reviewing the abstracts and decide who will be able to present a paper or a poster, or give a workshop.)
  • 15 September 2008: Notification of acceptance. (The authors of the accepted proposals will be contacted and asked to provide the final works to the conference.)
  • 30 October 2008: Final version of full research papers due. (The page limit is 15 pages. The time limit for the presentation is 30 minutes.)
  • 3 November 2008: Registration starts
  • 28-30 January 2009: Conference in Porto
